My little Maggie is four months old today. A third of a year. She's going to be eating cereal and Stage 1 baby food real soon. We took out the little pillow for head that was in her car seat. We have to move the straps up to the next level. She's turning into a big girl.
Last night was night one of the baby crack machine. And well, folks, Miss Maggie slept from 7:15 till 3 a.m., when she woke to eat, and then slept till mommy woke her up today. So we are 1 for 1 on BCM (baby crack machine). PJ LOVES the thing -- it has a projector option, and he just thought it was the awesomeest thing ever...too bad we never got one for him, but still he's pretty much asleep already when he gets in his room, so oh well.
It is fucking freezing in Chicago today. We're talking -7 without the wind chill. Hasn't been this cold in awhile. In other news, it's supposed to be in the high 30s this weekend, which is good since we have a wedding on Saturday and since I am an anti-nylon wearing kind of gal, my legs will be bare. I am looking forward to the wedding, it will be nice to be out and having a good time with some good friends, and oh, of course, my husband. ;)
My children are so thoughtful, they sent their grandmas Valentine's Day cards. They really are very thoughtful kids. :) Grandma Cheryl called me last night to thank me for them -- funny she didnt' call her son. :)

Hi Pretty!
Hi Pretty!
That's what PJ said to Maggie this morning. Clear as day. Climbed up next to her while she was in her carseat, and said, "Hi Pretty."
Now, we say hi pretty to Maggie pretty much constantly. But PJ saying it? Heart. Melted.
Mags has a cough and is snotty lately, no surprise since her big brother was pretty sick with fever, cough and snotty nose (he's all better -- just cough and some snots left). Elevated her crib last night and that seemed to help her this morning big time.
She is desperately trying to turn over from her back to her belly. So much, in fact, she tries to do it in her bouncer, which is pretty much impossible. And she gets so frustrated. Poor girl. Your big brother did it just after 4 months, so you only have a few more days of frustration and I'm sure you'll be a pro.
We've started using the bumbo as well - until she tries to get out of it. She does seem to like it, until she tries to get out of it. We'll be moving on to trying cereal soon. I have to order a Space Saver High Chair since our kitchen is the size of my thumb. Hopefully I will do that this weekend and we'll be ready to try yummy rice cereal. Not really. It's pretty gross, but the babes seem to enjoy it.
Anyway, hi pretty!

The Snowpocalypse, Maggie's Christening, and Baby Crack Machine
How's that for a post title? Ha. We got a lot of fricking snow. Okay. I'm talking major snow like I've never seen before. We did manage to take PJ out on the sled for a little while.
Maggie's christening was Sunday. She was a doll for the entire thing. Her big brother has had a fever on and off the past few days, so he was a little cranky at the end, but nothing terrible. It was the first event without John's dad. It was a little sad, but our minister said something about him and that was nice.
Here's my pretty girl in her Christening outfit.

Speaking of my pretty girl, she's waking up 3 times a night to eat. Weird. She hasn't done that since she was super little. I am assuming she NEEDS to eat, because she eats for a decent amount of time. I don't mind getting up, but I would like it to at least go down to twice a night! Especially since if she wakes between 4-5:30 she stays up for awhile. She seems to love the environmental sounds of her mobile, but it only stays on for 20 minutes. So I ordered the baby crack machine today which will stay on indefinitely. I am hoping it will help her sleep longer between feedings. PJ still wakes up at least once a night and it never fails that they seem to be up at the same time, so I need something here.
She'll be four months old next week and I am excited about starting to give her cereal. A lot of people say to wait till 6 months for food, but we started PJ on cereal at 4 months and he did great. I am hoping it will help ease some of her hunger. Of course, she is nearly 4 months, so she could be going through a growth spurt.
PJ has a terrible cough and runny nose, and fever on and off, poor guy. He's nearly two so we can actually give him other things besides infant Tylenol, which is good so hopefully it will help him feel better. I hate when my little ones get sick, I wish I could just take it all away. Hopefully he'll get better by Monday, at least no more fevers. He's still pretty happy though, my happiness.
I've started singing My Girl to Maggie and she cracks up. She thinks it's sooo funny. I can always get her to smile and laugh at me. I love her little laugh.
Hope you are all safe and not snowed in.
